The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world's most popular and widely recognized scuba diving certification. Under the guidance of a highly trained PADI Instructor, you will develop the skills and confidence to dive safely and independently at dive sites around the globe.

This comprehensive course includes knowledge development through PADI eLearning (5-10 hours of self-paced study), confined water sessions where you practice essential skills, and four open water dives where you apply everything you've learned in the beautiful waters of Havelock Island.

Upon completion, you'll receive a globally recognized PADI certification.

Course Structure

1

PADI eLearning

Complete 5-10 hours of self-paced online study covering dive theory, safety protocols, and equipment knowledge.

Confined Water Training

Build confidence underwater by mastering essential scuba skills through 5 confined water training sessions, including mask clearing, buoyancy control, regulator recovery, breathing techniques, and equipment handling in a safe shallow-water environment.

Open Water Dives

Complete 4supervised ocean dives over 2 days, applying your skills in real diving conditions.

Certification

Receive your PADI Open Water Diver card — your passport to dive anywhere in the world.

Day 1

Report to our dive centre at Havelock Island. Followed by documentation, medical form, dive planning, orientation, basic dive principles and swim/snorkel test.

Day 2

Complete all confined water trainings

Day 3

Apply skills learned in confined waters in 2 open waters dive

Day 4

Complete the remaining 2 Open water dives and apply the skills learned. Followed by course evaluation and certificate processing.

Day 5 (Optional)

Some students stay an extra day to feel more comfortable as open-water divers. No extra charges for the course in such a case

Requirements & Prerequisites

Minimum Age

12 years old

Swimming Ability

Swim 200m unassisted or 300m with mask, fins & snorkel

Water Treading

Tread water for 10 minutes without assistance

Medical Fitness

Medical clearance required — basic health questionnaire

Swaraj Dweep (Havelock) Stay

Minimum 3 Nights 4 Days is required at Havelock Island for the course to be completed. On 4th day you will be free by 12 PM. Students who wish to extend another day is possible without any extra charges.

Read and complete before your dive. Includes the medical screening, liability release, and data privacy form required for all Experience Scuba programs.

Please arrive at our Experience Scuba dive centre at Vijaynagar, Beach No.5, Havelock Island, Andaman & Nicobar Islands 744211 on the first day of your course. Our team will brief you and start the session on time.
